Partner Ozzie Palomo spoke with @Bloomberg Government’s Kate Ackley regarding Congress’ return to Washington this month and the challenges of passing legislation in a tight calendar.
“Ozzie Palomo, a founder of Chartwell Strategy Group, is working on a Senate retirement savings bill (S. 4917). Sens. Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), and Gary Peters (D-Mich.) introduced the bill that would expand investment options for nonprofit retirement plans.
“I’m actually pretty optimistic, but one thing legislation like that faces is the schedule,” said Palomo, who is registered to lobby for retirement services companies including Empower, Great Gray Trust Company and Fidelity Investments.
The time crunch, he said, makes the CR “a stretch” to use as a legislative vehicle.”
